Courtesy of TIFFA new Bruce Springsteen concert film titled Western Stars, featuring the New Jersey rock legend performing the songs from his new album of the same name, will get its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The movie was co-directed by Springsteen and his frequent collaborator Thom Zimny, whose Bruce-related credits include the Springsteen on Broadway Netflix special.

The Western Stars flick also features footage of the Boss reflecting on life, rock music and the American dream.

This year's Toronto Film Festival runs from September 5 to September 15. Although an exact premiere date for Western Stars hasn't been confirmed, the movie is listed as a "Closing Night Film," so it apparently will be shown on the 15th.

As previously reported, Springsteen also will appear in the new rock doc Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band, which will also get its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. The screening will take place at a gala celebrating the opening of the festival, on September 5 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.

Springsteen has not announced any plans to tour in support of the Western Stars album. However, Bruce revealed at a Netflix-sponsored event in Hollywood in May that after years of struggling to come up with material that he felt would suit his E Street Band, he'd recently written about an album's worth of new songs that he planned to record with them.

"[I]t just came out of almost nowhere. And it was good, you know," he declared at the event. "It makes you so happy. You go…'I'm not f***ed, all right? There'll be another tour!'"
